What Folicle does
Folicle is a hair-growth tracking app and website operated by Lungu Andrei Leonard. Folicle helps users take more consistent scalp photos, track treatment routines, store progress notes, view reminders, review trends, and prepare clearer information for a dermatologist visit.
- Folicle is built for measurement and organization, not diagnosis.
- Folicle may offer photo analysis, Hair Score, AI Coach, educational content, tools, and community-style stories.
- Feature availability can vary by platform, plan, country, device, and app version.
Important
No medical advice
Folicle does not diagnose, treat, cure, prevent, or prescribe for any condition. Hair loss can have medical causes, including hormonal, autoimmune, nutritional, medication-related, inflammatory, postpartum, or stress-related causes.
- Do not use Folicle as a substitute for a board-certified dermatologist, physician, pharmacist, or other qualified clinician.
- Talk to a clinician before starting, stopping, combining, or changing medications such as finasteride, dutasteride, minoxidil, RU58841, ketoconazole, supplements, or any compounded treatment.
- Seek medical care promptly for sudden shedding, patchy loss, scalp pain, infection signs, severe side effects, mood changes, sexual side effects, pregnancy-related questions, or any urgent concern.
- AI-generated analysis and educational content may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong.
Accounts
Your account responsibilities
You are responsible for the information you provide, the security of your login, and any activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure.
- You may not access another person’s account, photos, treatment logs, or private information without permission.
- Folicle is intended for adults. Do not use Folicle if you are under 18 unless your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and accepted these terms where legally permitted.
Billing
Subscriptions and purchases
Paid features may be sold through Apple App Store or Google Play. Store billing is handled by the relevant app store, while RevenueCat helps us manage subscription status and restore purchases.
- Subscription pricing, renewal dates, trials, taxes, and cancellation options are shown before purchase in the relevant app store flow.
- You can cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.
- Deleting the app or deleting your Folicle account may not automatically cancel an active store subscription.
- Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies, unless local law requires otherwise.
Photos and AI
Scalp photos, AI Coach, and generated analysis
Folicle may process scalp photos, treatment context, scores, notes, and coach messages to create progress reports or AI responses.
- Only upload photos and information that you have the right to use.
- AI outputs are informational and should be checked against your own records and medical advice.
- Lighting, angle, hair length, styling, camera quality, shedding cycles, and treatment changes can all affect perceived progress.
- Do not submit emergency medical questions to AI Coach.
User content
Your photos, notes, and stories
You keep ownership of the photos, notes, treatment logs, and stories you submit. You give Folicle the limited permission needed to host, process, display, analyze, and back up that content so the service can work.
- Private app content stays private according to the Privacy Policy and app permissions.
- If you submit a public story, you allow Folicle to display, edit for formatting, moderate, and promote that story on Folicle pages.
- Do not submit content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, misleading, spammy, or that exposes someone else’s private data.
- We may remove public stories or content that appears unsafe, abusive, promotional, medically misleading, or unrelated to hair-loss experience.
Rules
Acceptable use
Use Folicle in a way that respects other users, the product, and the sensitive nature of health-related personal data.
- Do not reverse engineer, scrape, overload, attack, or interfere with Folicle systems.
- Do not use Folicle to build a competing database, train models, spam users, or extract private data.
- Do not bypass paywalls, abuse promotions, automate fake submissions, or misrepresent your identity.
- Do not upload malware, illegal material, or third-party photos without consent.
Privacy
Privacy and account deletion
Our Privacy Policy explains what data Folicle collects, why we process it, what third parties support the service, and how long data is retained.
- You can request access, export, correction, or deletion by contacting [email protected].
- You can delete your account in the app settings when the app is installed.
- If you no longer have the app, use the public account deletion page at /delete-account.
- Some purchase, tax, fraud-prevention, backup, support, or legal records may be retained where required or permitted by law.
Changes
Availability, updates, and changes
We may change, pause, remove, or improve parts of Folicle over time, including through app updates and over-the-air updates.
- We try to keep Folicle useful and stable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
- Features may change as we learn from users, fix bugs, adjust pricing, or comply with platform requirements.
- We may update these terms. The updated date on this page shows the latest version.
Legal
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Folicle is provided as-is and as-available to the maximum extent allowed by law. We do not promise that Folicle will detect every change, prevent hair loss, improve treatment outcomes, or replace clinical judgment.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, Folicle is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Folicle is not responsible for medical decisions, treatment choices, provider advice, app-store billing issues, third-party service outages, or user-submitted content.
- Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.
Termination
Suspension or termination
You can stop using Folicle at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if an account appears to violate these terms, creates legal risk, harms other users, or abuses the service.
- After termination, some terms continue where needed, including medical disclaimers, privacy, ownership, acceptable use, and liability limits.
- Account deletion requests are handled according to the Privacy Policy and deletion page.
